Our School at a Glance
Insight PA Cyber Charter School (ISPA) serves students statewide in grades K–12. As with all public schools, ISPA is available to Pennsylvania residents. While attending ISPA, you must maintain full-time, Pennsylvania residency.
ISPA offers a comprehensive online program, including a rigorous curriculum, an innovative learning management system, a full suite of academic and support services, a career exploratory course for middle school students, and the Destinations Career Academy at ISPA for 8th–12th graders. Students can learn at home, on the road, or wherever an internet connection can be found. While attendance, teacher interaction, and daily lessons will be conducted online, lessons will use physical materials and offline tools as well.
Certified Teachers, Superior Teaching Tools
All ISPA students will interact with one or more Pennsylvania-certified teachers (depending on grade level) and communicate regularly with their teachers through email, telephone, online synchronized sessions, direct instruction, and regular outings. Teachers will work with students and Learning Coaches (a parent or other responsible adult) in core courses to oversee and assist the students as they work through the year's curriculum.
Students receive instructional materials, including a wide array of textbooks, clay, rocks, and other hands-on educational materials that complement the interactive online elements of the student’s courses, ensuring that students receive instruction using the best method for each subject. The number and type of materials varies by grade and by course.
Dedicated Teacher Support
In grades 3–5, the "Learning Coach" (a parent or other responsible adult) works closely with the teacher to help facilitate the student's progress and to modify the student's pace and schedule as needed. At the middle and high school levels, the Learning Coach will be less involved as students take more responsibility for their own learning and work more often at a collective pace with a class of teacher-led students. The amount of time a Learning Coach must spend with a student will vary with each student. In addition, networking opportunities are provided through various events and outings, enabling the entire school community to connect.
ISPA allows students to learn in the ways that are right for them. The key is our personalized approach to education. In addition, In addition, ISPA provides the structure, administrative support, oversight, accountability, and state testing required of all Pennsylvania public schools.
